Description
Part of the Eastern Shores Game Reserve, Cape Vidal has beautiful beaches where people like to sun themselves, kick the football around, fish and snorkel. The dunes here run all along the coast and are 150m high. The dune forests are fascinating and have an abundance of interesting life in them. The rare Samango monkey is a special sight.

We had a great experience with Shakabarker tours. We saw lots of hippos and crocodiles on our boat trip. Kian shared interesting facts about the animals and area. We also had delicious hot drinks and snacks, while enjoying the beautiful sunset. Highly reccommended.
Did the 3:15 boat cruise which is scheduled to coincide with sunset. Our guide included fascinating information about the area in general and what we specifically saw. This obviously varies with each cruise making it a unique experience. I was advised that Shakabarker was the best cruise to go on due to the knowledgeable guides and the small groups. Although I haven't been on a cruise with all the other companies I can certainly say that the cruise met the high expectations my advisors had set. One thing I particularly liked was that a couple of times the engine was turned off and we had the opportunity to experience Africa around us.
What an amazing night tour through the wetland. We saw so many amazing creatures and critters, and learnt so many new and interesting facts. Our highlight of the evening were the abundant chameleon species that we came across. And the evening was rounded off with lovely hot chocolate and rusks.
Keown (apologies if I butchered the spelling) was an amazingly informed guide with a friendly and humourous style. Loved his insights into the area, the guy is a walking encyclopedia. Would definitely recommend
Such an awesome experience. Really knowledgeable and very un rushed. Will certainly reccomend anyone wanting to do a night time game drive.
